if I could sing a song about the way I feel right now: portraits of a kind of melancholic dreaming

These are images of selfhood and connection seen through/with confusion, clarity, meditations.

The first couples series referenced and was inspired by the relation-drama captured in this scene (Badlands. T. Malick. dir. (Warner Bros 1973)) and was a jumping off point for what has become a long meditation on the body, gender and appearance. Ambiguous and homosocial relationships are presented in various modes of being: weddings; play; performance and also solitude (solicitude?)
